Final Show

Updated sketch - laptop will go behind the hollow plinth. An LED light will aid in visibility as my space is slightly dark, and I will have a book on show.

PLANS FOR FINAL SHOW:

a. please outline your plans for what you will be showing (please give lots of details even though I know most your ideas, with 19 students it can be difficult to remember exact details!)

I will be showing an interactive interface comprising of digitised water colours, filmed stories and recorded stories. The water colours will each have a fragmented version of the recorded stories (through a chance method). The user will be able to play and move the videos around (maybe resize as well but since the touch screen is multi touch this might be eliminated since they will be able to zoom in and out by pinching with two fingers).

Each time the user carries out an action, three elements might change from the interface using a random number generator. I might be limiting the stories and water colours to only 1 at one go as to avoid frustration and confusion due to layered audio pieces. (Will be meeting my developer this thursday to finalise the code)

I will be using a touchscreen that is connected to a laptop & headphones. I will also have a white stand/cover for the touch screen and the laptop.

The touch screen is 55 cm wide X 43.5 cm high and due to the laptop will need a thickness of around 30 cm

I will also be showcasing a book that includes all the blog posts throughout these two years.

b. what equipment will you need (please indicate if you will be using your own equipment or if you need to borrow or hire stuff from college)

I will be using my own touch screen and laptop so I will basically need a power source ( I need 3 different outlets)

What I would need from the college:


1. good quality headphones.
2. a plinth for the monitor and laptop

c. if you cannot get the exact equipment you need please suggest a basic alternative option

If the headphones are not available I will see if I can borrow a pair from my college.
If the plinth is not available I will have to find a way to build my own since I cannot bring it from Malta

d. provide some rough sketches showing your ideas

The only thing missing from the sketches is the book, which is 18 X 18 cm. This can be exhibited next to the monitor or in front of it.
